Industry Selected: Travel

Brief:

Select an industry you would like to research; it could be an industry you encounter every day or one that you simply enjoy. After looking more closely into the selected industry, find out and create a list of several problems that this industry may face. Create a product that solves this problem and fully display a presentation discussing what you solved and what this product does.

PROBLEM STATEMENT:

In the travel industry, there is a lack of attention to having the best road trip experience. When traveling on the road, people search, scroll, pin, and struggle to find the “best” locations to snap the perfect shot.

The cell phone has become our tour guide, travel agency, best restaurant locator, map, and more. 

 

It's by our side during the entire purchase journey. In fact, according to TripAdvisor, 45% of users use their smartphones for everything having to do with their vacations.

To create the most convenient and useful road trip experience, giving the new marketing audience a platform to search, inspire, and share photos while visiting unique/photo-worthy locations.

THE APPLICATION

THE USERS JOURNEY IS DIVIDED INTO 3 PARTS

TASK 1: FILTER AND ROUTE

  • After logging into the user's account, the call to action will be to start the search to the desired destination. Once the destination is selected,  the user will be able to filter out what kind of stops they would like to stop at, and what stops they would not.

 

  • After browsing photos taken throughout the route they selected, the user will be able to filter again, deciding if they would stop at the recommended spot that WHERE provides. 

TASK 2: SELECT LOCATION AND BROWSE

  • When coming up on the suggested spot, the user will be given the opportunity to make the stop or continue on the route. 

 

  •  If the user is curious, they are able to tap on the location that pops up and browse for past photos that were taken and tagged there. This will raise inspiration and exploration.

TASK 3: TAG A FRIEND AND POST

  • WHERE also acts as social media, creating a community for artists, and travelers. 

 

  • The end goal for each user is to travel, experience, and capture each new location, while documenting your

Users will be provided with a series of route options, giving options to how long one wants their trip and experience to be.

Select Destination Filters:

Once filters are selected, the user will be able to browse the top photos that were taken on the suggested route, considering the filters chosen.

TASK 2:  SELECT LOCATION AND BROWSE

WHERE  does not recommend users to be using their phones to explore and discover while driving. Whenever the user is navigating through our app, their trip will be paused to prevent accidents.

Start Trip:

The User will always be able to change and alter their filters and other details when tapping on the direction indicator at the top of their screen.

Make Stop & Browse:

When coming up on a destination, the User will be given the option to continue their route or make the stop. When "Making the Stop", they will be able to browse past photos for inspiration.

Although this application focuses on the places that are more hidden and discrete, WHERE  still offers many services and popular spots in order to compete with our competitors
